Kanaara Creek Trail is a wet hike that leads into a slot canyon. Although the weather was mild, the water was icy cold at the end of October . The trail crisscrosses the stream several times on the way to the canyon, and we avoided getting our feet wet for as long as possible. Once we took the plunge (with our feet) the chilly water felt like pins and needles! However, that was quickly forgotten as we entered the canyon; it was amazing! There are two places where it’s necessary to climb a ladder while holding onto ropes. I have a mild fear of heights, and it didn’t bother me at all. This hike is about 4.8 miles in and out, and it has been one of our all-time favorites!
